The One Nominated to Be "PASTOR TO PASTORS"

Learning to be a power for a good while serving her country is what Pastor Ridgill stands for. She is an ordained mistier who currently serves as the Associate General Presbyter of the Presbytery of Charlotte. Pastor Ridgill, who most recently served as pastor of New Faith Presbyterian Church in Greenwood County, is also a published author of the book called "Maximizing the Meantime: Feasting on God in Times of Famine." Ridgill is also a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve; she holds the captain's rank and intends to do a lot more for Manning's beautiful community.

Like most ordained ministers, Pastor Ridgill upholds a strong position and doing what it takes to maintain a good job. As an ordained pastor, her role mostly performs one main vital task: caring for the church members, similar to how a shepherd cares for their sheep. A minister can be a pastor, but a minister can also be a priest, bishop, healer, evangelist, prophet, and several other things. Ridgill begins her ministry in Manning, SC, at 21 years old. "I have been ministering for 23 years. I have been licensed at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. After attending Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy in Clinton, SC, I knew I wanted to go on and become a Presbyterian minister," stated Pastor Ridgill during an interview.

She was born and raised in the small town of Manning, SC. Ridgill has founded the first African American Presbyterian Church in Greenwood County. A freshly built sanctuary was dedicated when the church chartered in 2015. Ridgill earned a Bachelor of Arts from P.C., a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Erskine Theological Seminary, a Certificate in Executive Leadership from McCormick Theological Seminary, an MBA from Louisiana State University (Shreveport). In 2016, Dr. Ridgill preached before the 222nd General Assembly in Portland, Oregon, where her thought-provoking sermon "Difference Makers" was met with critical acclaim. She also preached during the 2016 Youth Triennium, where her message "God is FUN."

Dr. Ridgill has also served as pastor of Washington Street Presbyterian Church, adjunct professor of pastoral care for Erskine Theological Seminary, and campus pastor of Thornwell, home and ministry for children in covenant relationship with the churches in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida of the P.C. (USA) Synod of South Atlantic. Pastor Ridgill's book, Maximizing the Meantime: Feasting on God in Times of Famine, is an inspirational book to read. The ordained minister and founding pastor of New Faith Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Alice Ridgill, stated during an interview, "the book falls under the categories of Christian, inspirational self-help, guiding readers through how to make the most of "the uncertain interval between one thing and another." If I can help somebody as I travel along my way, then my living will not be in vain is Pastor Ridgill's motto.
